The cultural life of Las Parejas is concentrated around the MunicipalHouse of Culture, institution that currently has 22 years of experience. Year after year the number of students that enroll on courses increases due to the wide range of courses and workshops that are held. There are about 1000 at this time.

In the House of Culture there are two types of courses, among which those financed by the municipal government and therefore free for students. These include:

Every year there are new proposals for courses and workshops in addition to the existing ones.

It is important to mention that the cultural policy implemented by the local government aims to promote the artistic and cultural expressions of the city, encouraging therefore any local initiative. In fact, the House of Culture offers the community festivals organized by their dance workshops, seminars, milongas, concerts and all kinds of presentations.

However the party par excellence is the one that takes place at the end of November; it is a great party for everybody, it is the celebration of the Agribusiness SMEs.

This party brings together workers, industry, agro, trade, local artisans and institutions in a giant sample of the full potentiality of Las Parejas citizenship. People from both the city and the neighboring towns come to enjoy the performances by local artists and leading national and international figures. Las Parejas has welcome León Gieco, Víctor Heredia, Soledad Pastorutti, Alejandro Lerner y Los Nocheros, among other celebrities.

Furthermore, every year the Department of Culture and Education organizes the celebrations for “Children’s Day” and for the Carnival. Along with educational establishments, this department organizes public patriotic acts, held in the city squares and promenades. Among them, special emphasis is put on the commemoration of  July 9^th, occasion in which the Direction offers a “Tour of Identity” with traditional dances, traditional food, folk music, tango and choreography, local artists’ performances and an artisans’ fair.

Another important initiative is the outreach projects, which are inter-institutional and have as their main aim to optimize the use of other institutions’ resources.
